Day-by-Day Itinerary
Marrakech → Tizi n'Tichka → Aït Benhaddou → Boumalne Dades
Your private driver collects you from your riad or the airport in Marrakech. We climb the dramatic Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m) through the High Atlas Mountains, with panoramic stops for photos of snow-dusted peaks and Berber villages. Descend to the legendary ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage fortress and filming location for Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After exploring its ancient mud-brick lanes, we continue through Ouarzazate — Morocco's Hollywood — and the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" to the Dades Valley. Overnight in a charming kasbah hotel nestled among the surreal rock formations of Boumalne Dades, with dinner included.
Boumalne Dades → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga Desert Camp
After breakfast, we drive through the Valley of Roses to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where 300-metre cliffs tower above a crystal-clear river. Time for a scenic hike through the canyon before continuing east through the palm oases of Tinejdad and the fossil town of Erfoud. As the afternoon light turns golden, we reach Merzouga — the gateway to the Sahara. Mount your camel for a trek into the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, watching the sunset paint the sands in shades of amber and violet. Arrive at your luxury desert camp for a traditional Berber dinner, live drumming around the campfire, and a night of stargazing in absolute silence.
Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Azrou → Ifrane → Fès
Wake before dawn for an unforgettable Sahara sunrise over the dunes — a photographer's dream. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we drive north through the spectacular Ziz Valley, with its endless date-palm groves and ancient ksars carved into the hillsides. Cross the Middle Atlas via Midelt, then enter the fragrant cedar forests of Azrou, where troops of Barbary macaques often approach the roadside. Pass through Ifrane, Morocco's immaculate alpine town nicknamed "Little Switzerland," before descending to Fès. Your driver drops you at your riad in the ancient medina or at Fès-Saïss Airport. End of our services.
