Day-by-Day Itinerary
Fes — Guided Tour of the Medina
Your driver will pick you up at your riad or Fes-Saïss Airport. The day is dedicated to discovering Fes el-Bali, the world's oldest Arab medina and a UNESCO-listed jewel. With a local guide, you'll explore the labyrinthine alleyways, the Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, Al-Qarawiyyin University, and the famous Chouara Tanneries with their multicolored dye pits. Visit the mellah (Jewish quarter) and Borj Nord fortress for a panoramic view. In the late afternoon, enjoy free time to wander through the specialized souks. Dinner at a traditional restaurant and overnight in a charming riad in the heart of the medina.
Fes → The Rif Road → Chefchaouen
Early morning departure north through the Rif Mountains. The road is a feast for the eyes: fertile hills, cork oak forests, and breathtaking mountain panoramas. Photo stops in Berber villages and a coffee break at a panoramic inn. Arrive in Chefchaouen in the early afternoon. This small town nestled at 600 meters above sea level is enchanting: its streets and staircases painted in ultramarine blue create a unique atmosphere. Settle into a typical blue riad. In the afternoon, stroll through the medina, discover Uta el-Hammam Square dominated by the kasbah and the grand mosque, and climb up to the Spanish Mosque for a panoramic sunset over the blue city and the mountains. Dinner and overnight in Chefchaouen.
Chefchaouen → Tetouan → Tangier (or return to Fes)
Free morning in Chefchaouen to deepen your exploration. Visit the Ras el-Maa Waterfall, a refreshing haven at the edge of the medina where Berber women come to wash their laundry. Wander through the less crowded blue alleyways, discover workshops where artisans hand-weave wool and rugs, and enjoy a mint tea on a panoramic terrace. Depending on your preference, two options are available: Option A — drive to Tetouan, the "White Dove," with its UNESCO-listed medina shaped by Andalusian refugees, then continue to Tangier to end the tour on the shores of the strait. Option B — direct return to Fes via the Rif road. In either case, your driver will drop you off at your hotel, riad, or airport. End of our services.

Several theories exist. One says that Jewish refugees who arrived in the 15th century painted the walls blue, the divine color, to feel closer to God. Another claims that blue keeps mosquitoes away. The real reason? Ask the locals themselves during your stroll through the medina — every family has its own version of the story.
Yes, Day 3 can end in Tangier (via Tetouan) instead of returning to Fes. In fact, this is the option we recommend if you'd like to extend your stay on the shores of the Strait of Gibraltar. Just let us know your preference when booking.
Breakfast is included every morning. Lunches and dinners are not included, giving you the freedom to choose. Budget around 80 to 150 MAD per meal. Chefchaouen is renowned for its local cuisine and terrace restaurants with mountain views.
Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) are ideal, with mild temperatures perfect for strolling through the streets of Chefchaouen. Summer remains pleasant thanks to the altitude (600 m) and the absence of factories that keep the air fresh. Winter can be cool and rainy, but the blue medina in the rain has a uniquely romantic charm.
